Experienced Bilingual Associate Attorney
Represent clients in a variety of family law matters including: pre and post judgment custody, parenting time and child support issues; divorce and stepparent adoption; interstate and internationally custody and support; show cause and enforcement matters; change of domicile motions (both defending and petitioning for paternity and affidavit of parentage issues.
- Educate, counsel, and empower clients to make informed, intelligent decision about their case, based upon practical risk-benefit analysis and understanding and application of the law to their unique circumstances.
- Communicate regularly with clients to explain all court proceeding, discuss case strategy, provide case updates, and answer questions. Provide written legal memoranda and/or formal letters to explain more complicated issues.
- Communicate early and regularly with opposing counsel to facilitate amicable resolution to issues where possible, avoid filling of pre-judgement motions and motions to compel discovery, and to extend professional courtesy without compromising client position.
- Interplay between the change of primary residence and court rules, stepparent adoptions and parental alienation issues.
- Write detailed mediation summaries and create comprehensive marital estate inventories and budgets to ensure resolution of all issues at mediation.
- Prepare clients for al hearing, court proceedings and mediation.
- Prepare witnesses for court hearing and trial
- Obtain favorable evidentiary rulings from the court via motions in limine.
- Educate the court on client’s issues with strong and timely file trial briefs.
- Hire and collaborate with experts in tax, business, financial bankruptcy and social science fields as needed.
- Draft prenuptial agreements
- Develop discovery tragedy and draft interrogatories, request to admit, request for production and subpoenas.
- Manage all trial preparation including creation of exhibits, slideshows, and tools for use during trial and post judgment hearings
- Draft all pleadings and motions for timely filing with the court.
- Secure contempt rulings, sanctions, and attorney fees for clients.
- Preferred Requirements:
- Licensed in the State of Texas
- Bilingual Experienced in Family Law

Family Law Paralegal - Bilingual
The right applicant will have the responsibility to:
- Draft a wide range of legal documents including pleadings, reports, correspondence, and forms in both draft and final form, relating to family law; e-file same
- Draft discovery pleadings, including Inventories and Appraisements; collect and prepare documents for production; review documents produced; prepare and maintain discovery inventories Prepare attorneys for hearings, trials, conferences, mediations; attend same when required
- Monitor case court dockets, internal client dockets, case filings; update legal case/client electronic tracking database MyCase regarding their assigned cases; capture client information; update client files
- Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients; aid in the collection of client information and documents
- Monitor, prioritize, organize and facilitate daily workflow for an attorney(s), and self
- Manage calendars; schedule appointments, hearings, mediations; track deadlines and time-sensitive tasks
- Maintain the integrity of a case’s file management systems regarding their assigned cases, including classifying, arranging, retrieving, and storing information in both electronic and hard copy formats
- Meet internal billing minimum requirements
- Spanish Speaking
- Extensive knowledge of the Texas Family Code and legal terminology, processes, documents as they pertain to family law in Texas; our new paralegal must have worked in family law in Texas for at least the last 2 years
- Is highly organized; able to multi-task proficiently and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills in working with clients, attorneys, court personnel, vendors, etc.; able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, attorneys, paralegals, court personnel
- Highly collaborative in nature
- Able to exercise high levels of discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity, and integrity
- Has a sense of humor to fit in with our highly spirited team
- Effective in communicating a compassionate approach to their case management and communications with clients
